About Me
Nickels, thanks for visiting my blog! I am here to give you a glimpse into the life of an average single black female. My vision when I created this blog was to create a safe space for single women of color to share in our experiences. Check out my mission page to learn more about my objective and what inspired me to write.
I am a proud HBCU graduate, Retirement Compliance Analyst with 10+ years of experience, Landlord, Property Manager, Student, and soon to be licensed Financial Planner. My professional life is robust. I will have quite a bit to dish on my career trajectory and the mistakes I have made along the way. Hopefully, you will learn from my missteps. Outside of school, work and managing my property, I make plenty of time for social justice and fun! My favorite color is green, I am a middle child, and I love a San Diego beach. Prior to the 2020 global pandemic my favorite thing to do was travel…on a budget. That’s right, I would get a high off of the discount supply. If I had to describe my super power, it would be finding a good deal on a modest budget. This super power is not exclusive to trip deals but in everything I buy.
Also, I have forged an interesting path to parenthood as a single BLACK female. Thank God for science. It has opened another door of opportunity for me. I will certainly share the details of my fertility journey. I plan to keep all my content light and positive especially the topics surrounding fertility. I remember after my first round of IVF I browsed the internet for hours in search of an uplifting story. Trust me, there were few. The internet can get dark given that the conception of a human being is a beautiful yet very difficult endeavor for most women. My goal is to motivate you throughout your fertility journey. We need all the support we can get because this s**t AIN’T easy.
Overall, I am here to represent the life and times of an average single black female in America. It is full of thorns and roses. So, buckle up Biotches!
